Easy PB Garlic Ramen Noods

Need a basically free meal or late night snack? Make these Peanut Garlic Noodles with household items!

You’ll need some pantry basics, and two fresh ingredients that will elevate this dish so high and make this suuuuuuper easy dish feel like an actual meal, not just made from some dry goods!

If you’re vegan, you can use a pack of SOY SAUCE FLAVOR Top Ramen, or just toss the flavor packet (or save it for someone else).

NOW GO READ THE INGREDIENTS AND I’LL TELL YOU WHAT TO DO WITH THEM.


  1. Your fave flavor of Top Ramen

  2. Hot water & salt

  3. Peanut Butter (crunchy for texture and crunchy bits)

  4. 2 garlic cloves

  5. Sesame oil

  6. Canola oil

  7. Soy sauce

  8. Rice vinegar

  9. Sriracha

  10. Green onions

  11. Chili flakes or gochugaru (optional)

  12. Sesame seeds (optional)

  13. Garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, ginger powder (IF NO SEASONING PACKET)


WHAT TO DO:

  1. So first, get a small, deep pot.

    1. This is the only dish you should need other than your utensils and bowl! Make sure it will fit enough water to boil your noodles later.

  2. But for now, start by adding equal parts sesame oil and canola oil to the pot. Heat it up on medium-low.

    1. You’ll prepare other things as this gets hot, so don’t make it too hot too fast. Also, don’t add too much - you will be eating all of this oil, so be conscious of your serving. I say about a tablespoon and a half?

  3. Next, add approx. 1 tablespoon (I just use a regular spoon) of peanut butter to your heat-safe glass or ceramic bowl.

    1. You’ll be eating out of this bowl AND making the sauce! No mess! :)

  4. Next, add your 2 garlic cloves, finely minced or grated into the same bowl.

  5. Add a few of your green onions

    1. Use the white parts of it here, if you prefer them softer and not so raw, in the same bowl. Save some for a fresh garnish on top.

  6. Add about a tablespoon of soy sauce and half a tablespoon of rice vinegar.

  7. Add half of your seasoning packet. (not all of it, it will be too salty)

    1. Use the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and ginger powder here if you don’t want to use your packet.

    2. Or add these anyway, I'm not here to judge, or under season your food.

  8. Add a couple of squirts of sriracha for added garlicky and umami flavors.

    1. Mild spice, definitely recommend even if you don’t like spicy.

  9. Add the optional chili flakes as well to the bowl.

  10. NOW add your hot oil, carefully to the bowl of ingredients.

    1. They should all sizzle and flavors should come alive! Especially the garlic, chili flakes, and green onions.

    2. Stir up the mixture, and here is your sauce!

  11. In the same, now empty, pot, add hot water, and boil your ramen noodles for about 3 minutes or until they’re to your liking.

    1. Al dente is best.

    2. Add salt to the water for more flavorful noodles. Make it taste like the ocean.

  12. Use a pair of chopsticks or tongs or two forks to lift your cooked noodles out of the boiling water directly into your sauce bowl.

    1. Don’t worry about the water, a little will go into your sauce, allowing the starchy liquid to emulsify your sauce and noodles even better.

  13. Now mix your noodles until they’re all coated in sauce.

  14. Lastly, sprinkle some of those leftover fresh green onions and sesame seeds! Extra sriracha for more spice.

  15. Voila!! Pretty! Yummy! Showstopping! CHEAP! I spent literally no money.


EXTRAS- add cooked frozen veggies or steamed broccoli for some veg! Feel free to mix this up, or make it even more complicated. Leave out whatever you don’t like! Add a soft-boiled egg for a restaurant feel! Swap ramen for SPAGHETTI noodles! Anything and everything works. What matters is that it tastes good.

PS: peanut noodles are an actual dish that has been around forever in a lot of cultures and homes, and I did not invent this. This is just how I happened to make it late at night when I wanted ramen but not in the broth from the packet. I’ve switched it up plenty of times and I hope you do the same!
