My Cooking Disclaimers

These are my kitchen disclaimers; things I do that you should expect when reading my

recipes.

So, first off, I’m vegan. Sometimes I eat eggs, because it makes things easier for me, going out, or just finding something quick to eat. Sometimes I’ll try a bit of something my

boyfriend’s grandma made, or I’ll have a bean taco with the tortilla dipped in birria consommé simply because I’m in Tijuana and I want to try something authentic and cool. In my eyes, this doesn’t make me any less vegan, simply because I’m willing to try something or occasionally add a product to a meal. Going vegan, or plant-based is about cutting down animal consumption. For the environment, for the animal cruelty, for your health, whatever you do it for. I eat for me, and I can call my diet whatever feels fitting to me.


On top of that, cooking-related, you should know I do not measure almost anything literally at all ever when I make anything. I just cook. Sometimes I taste first. It’s quite freeing, if you don’t do this, try it. It familiarizes you with portions and flavors easily, so if you’re in a rush, you don't have to worry about throwing something random together and knowing you’re still in for a delicious meal.


Those being said, I will try to state when things are not vegan, but if not said, just assume it’s an alternative of some kind. Like if it says “milk” ….. It will absolutely never be actual milk. Just use whatever kind you want. And if you didn’t know, it all works the same, so it doesn’t matter which. I’ll try to include brands I use as well, for recommendations! I’ll also try to give ballpark measurements when I think it’s essential. And I’ll include how many servings I’m making so you know what portions you’ll need for your own purposes.
